Seven new spots filed with the State Liquor Authority between Oct 20 and 27 in Williamsburg and Greenpoint, led by the first US branch of a Roman pizzeria. Here's what each one is, what's confirmed and what isn't yet.
How we score: Places that are open get a Tommy Shark Score (Google 35% · Yelp 25% · review volume 15% · critics' and local guides 25%) once they have enough verified ratings. Spots that haven't opened aren't scored. Every place here filed a new liquor license application (not a renewal), per State Liquor Authority data checked Oct 28, 2026.

Goan (likely)Opening soon
Filed for its liquor license Oct 20 · not scored until it opens
A company called 658 Driggs Fontainhas LLC filed for a full liquor license in the former INDAY All Day space, which closed in May. Fontainhas is the all-day Goan café in DUMBO from INDAY founder Viraj Borkar, so a Williamsburg Fontainhas looks likely, but no one has confirmed it publicly yet. If it happens, it would bring Goan cooking to a block that just lost its Indian spot.

A new applicant, NOWON LIC LLC, filed Oct 27 for a full liquor license here; Community Board 1's agenda lists it as a bar with a sidewalk café, trade name still to be decided. The name matches NOWON, chef Jae Lee's Korean-American restaurants in the East Village and Bushwick, known for dishes like kimchi burgers, but nothing public yet confirms a Williamsburg location.
